The thing that strikes me the most about this birth is how connected mum and dad are. Their love and devotion was beautiful to witness and to document for them. They were also playful, and I love when people bring their playful spirits into the birthing space. Birth, like life really, is all about the light and shade. Deep moments of powerful surrender and playful moments of lightness and awe and even fun.
Natalie had everything thrown at her, for this her third birth, and she handled it all so beautifully. She was strong and yet vulnerable and open and it was a joy to watch her surrender to her labour and birth. And baby Jude came swimming into the world to join his mum, dad and two older sisters. See if you can’t find Dad shedding a tear or two at the arrival of his first son.
